Outpatient Clinic Offers Specialty Services Close to Home
Outpatient Specialty Clinic      Why travel out of town?  Fourteen specialty physicians come to Maryville for weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly patient visits as part of the St. Francis Outpatient Specialty Clinic.

St. Francis Outpatient Specialty Clinic is an outpatient service in which healthcare specialists provide diagnostic evaluation, treatment, and/or management of health conditions.  These specialists work closely with the primary care providers and other health professionals to ensure continuity and appropriateness of care.  The Outpatient Specialty Clinic includes physicians in the fields of oncology, cardiology, podiatry, urology, ENT (ear, nose and throat), neurosurgery, orthopedic-spine, and physical medicine and rehabilitation.

“Outpatient specialty clinics play an important role in the delivery of health care in Maryville,” said Nancy Beattie, Lead OP Clinic Nurse. “ By bringing specialists to our community, we complement our local medical staff.”

Beginning June 1, the Outpatient Specialty Clinic will be moved in suite 2 of the Maryville Medical Building (located on the hospital campus just to the southeast of the hospital).  The recently refurbished suite is situated just across the hall from its previous location.

From the beginning the clinic's goal has been to provide patients with top-quality, specialized care in a convenient, comfortable setting, close to home.   Today, the clinic has grown to include 14 physicians from St. Joseph and Kansas City representing 10 specialties. Clinics are held Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on the following days of the week:

  • ENT:  first and third Wednesdays;
  • Cardiology:  every Tuesday and Thursday (Family Health Care Clinic) plus the pacemaker clinic on the third Thursday;
  • Neurology:  every other Thursday;
  • Neurosurgery:  first Friday;
  • Oncology:  every Monday and Thursday (Maryville Cancer Clinic);
  • Ortho-Spine:  second Monday;
  • Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation:  every Thursday;
  • Podiatry:  every Monday and first Wednesday;
  • Pulmonology:  first and fourth Tuesday; and
  • Urology:  every Thursday.

The newly remodeled  clinic facility includes eight exam rooms, a reception area with a lovely waiting room, and work spaces for physicians and nurses. The clinic is staffed with full-time lead nurse Nancy Beattie, LPN.  Two additional clinic nurses, Barb McQuiston and Annie McComb, help the patients and physicians as needed.

The two specialties that are exceptions to the new facility are the oncology and cardiology physicians.  Drs. Abou-Jawde and Weigand will continue to serve patients in the Maryville Cancer Clinic in Suite 4 in the Maryville Medical Building.  Drs. Lammoglia and Watkins, cardiologists, will also maintain their schedules of seeing patients at the St. Francis Family Health Care clinic, on the west side of the hospital’s south wing.

For more information or to learn more about the specialists available at the St. Francis Outpatient Specialty Clinic, contact Nancy Beattie at (660) 562-7979.
