Wholesome, nourishing and well-balanced meals are an important part of your treatment and recovery. St. Francis Hospital & Health Services makes every effort to provide meals that are prepared according to your doctor’s orders.
The Nutritional Services Department is proud to offer Hospitality Dining meal service, which allows you to order what you want and when you want from an extensive menu.
Here are some things to remember when ordering:
- Certain medications may require food to be eaten when you take them. Your nurse will provide you with this at medication time. You will not have to order food to be taken with your medication.
- Certain tests mandate that you do not eat for a period of time. When this happens, we will be certain to deliver your meal after the tests have been completed.
- Diet guides will be provided to you when you are placed on a special diet. Allowed foods, according to your diet, are listed and will help you make proper decisions when you are ordering.
Patients on special diets (those who can not make selections from the menu) are served breakfast at 8:00 a.m.; lunch at 1:00 p.m.; and dinner at 6:00 p.m. Occasionally, your meal may be delayed if you are scheduled for a special test or treatment. Whenever possible, you will be served after your examination or test. If you have difficulty making menu selections, a member of the Dietary staff will be happy to help you. Call extension 5101 for assistance.
If a family member or friend wants to eat in your room with you, the person may go to the cafeteria, buy a meal there and take it back to your room. If the person does not want to go to the cafeteria, a guest meal tray can be delivered to your room for a reasonable price.
Cafeteria
The cafeteria at St. Francis Hospital & Health Services is open daily from 6:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. While it is primarily designed to serve hospital employees, visitors are welcome to eat in the cafeteria at any time it is open.

Vending machines for snacks and beverages are located in the cafeteria on the ground floor, near the chapel along the corridor between the front entrance and patient rooms, and at the south end of the Medical/Surgical hall, between rooms 25 and 26. They are available 24 hours a day.
