The Tobin Benefit Golf Classic celebrates its 20th year in 2010 on Thursday, May 27, and Friday, May 28, at Mozingo Lake Golf Course. Started in 1991, this tournament has set the benchmark for quality golf benefits in the Northwest Missouri region. Over the years, the Tobin Classic has seen a lot of new faces and many familiar names each and every year. All of the repeat golfers agree that it is the friendly and gracious volunteers, lively camaraderie, and the pro-fessionalism with which the tournament is conducted that brings them back year after year.

The Tobins – Bill, Vince, and Duke – and their families have made this event a personal tradition, and the record number of golfers and funds raised have proven its success. The Tobin family has been generous to a tee (pun intended) of their time and resources in making this tournament a vital and valued event each and every year.

The proceeds from the 2010 tournament will be used toward the purchase of new equipment for the obstetrical patients at St. Francis Hospital & Health Services, including a new birthing bed, fetal heart monitor and obstetrical/gynecological stretcher for the emergency department. As a replacement for an older bed, the innovative birthing bed will offer outstanding patient comfort, flexible support features, simple operation, and improved mobility. The replacement fetal monitor will cover patients from the onset of contractions through the final stages of delivery with its full set of external and internal fetal parameters, such as direct fetal heart rate and intrauterine pressure.
