Maryville, Mo. – This year for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, St. Francis Hospital & Health Services is teaming up with Maryville Hy-Vee to host a Ladies Night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 in the front lobby corridor of St. Francis, located at 2016 South Main Street in Maryville.
Women from Northwest Missouri and Southwest Iowa are invited to come celebrate being female and the advances that have been made for breast health and breast cancer prevention with an evening of good food, fun, and fashion. St. Francis Imaging Services staff will be on hand to schedule mammograms with the digital mammography unit.
Maryville Hy-Vee’s bakery, floral, and grocery departments will be in attendance and will provide refreshments for guests. They will offer coupons for 10% off a total grocery order to women who schedule a mammogram during the event, and an additional coupon for 20% off after their exam is complete.
Additional local vendors who plan to participate include representatives with Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, Fashion Chicks, At Home America, Uppercase Living, Isagenix and Chair Massages by Valerie Luke. The St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary’s Gift Shop will also be open.
According to the Cancer Society, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime and 230,480 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States this year alone. Fortunately, deaths from breast cancer have been decreasing due to earlier detection and better treatment methods.
