Hospital Room Dedication Ceremonies Held
Taylor Room DedicationTwo areas of St. Francis Hospital were recently dedicated to the memories of Debra K. Ervin and J. B. Taylor in separate ceremonies on December 7. A waiting area in the hospital’s front lobby was dedicated to Mrs. Ervin while the family waiting room near the medical/surgical unit was named for Col. Taylor.

“We are honored that the families of Mrs. Ervin and Col. Taylor chose to designate St. Francis Hospital Foundation as the recipient of funds in order for us to update these two waiting areas,” said Rita Miller, Community Relations and Development Director at St. Francis and Secretary of the St. Francis Hospital Foundation.

Ervin Space DedicationGary Ervin, husband to Debra, and his daughters, Julie Blane and Jill Ervin, wanted to see that part of the building that Gary worked on while he was employed in the construction trade designated to the memory of their wife and mother.

The children of Col. J. B. Taylor elected to direct memorial funds to the remodeling of the medical/surgical family waiting room. Renamed the Taylor Family Waiting Room, the space has new chairs and television as well as updated ceiling, walls and floor.

“Nurses on the (medical/surgical) unit selected the furniture, paint and other furnishings for the room,” said Karie Untiedt, Medical/Surgical & ICU Nurse Manager, “with the goal to offer a pleasant environment where families can wait in comfort. We are deeply appreciative of the Taylor family for giving us the means to make this happen.”
