The 2011 ‘Cat Walk and Health and Human Services Expo will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Bearcat Arena beginning at 8:00 a.m. to help raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
“We need you! Every day, approximately three babies are born with CF in this country, and every day at least one person with CF dies,” reports Kathy Brand, OB Nurse Manager at St. Francis Hospital & Health Services and co-chairperson. “Your help is urgently needed to ensure that the rapid pace of CF research continues. The cost of this research continues to escalate as sophisticated, new technology must be developed to save these lives.”
“By investing in CF research, you are investing in the lives of those with the disease. Working together, we can give the children and young adults with CF the quality of life and the future they deserve,” states Brand.
The ‘Cat Walk is sponsored by Northwest Be Well Program in partnership with St. Francis Hospital & Health Services. The event is open to the public and no pre-registration is required. The first 300 participants will receive a free registration prize with a $2 donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
In addition to the Walk, research projects by the NWMSU health and human services class will be on display. Free bone density and blood pressure screenings will also be offered as part of the health and human services expo.
